The long-awaited adaptation of the iconic series of The Witcher books by Andrzej Sapkowski, produced by Netflix, is getting closer. We already know the actor who will play Geralt of Rivia - in this role we will see Henry Cavill (known mainly from the movies, including Superman in "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Man of Steel").
However, other roles adored by both readers and game players are yet to be announced, including Yennefer and Ciri. Many Witchers' fans pointed out that due to the specifics of Sapkowski's novel, the roles in the series should be assigned to actors of Slavic origin.
Polish references in "Th Witcher"
Can we expect Polish references in Netflix production? It is very probable. We might expect Polish actors. The casting director of the series, Sophie Holland, on her Twitter account confirmed that she visited Warsaw as part of castings for the roles of other heroes. Although it is not known yet which character will be played by a person of Polish origin, the rumors indicate the Child Surprise, Ciri. According to the Reddit portal, the casting, which took place in Warsaw, was to emerge an actress of Slavic beauty.
When will the premiere of the series "The Witcher" take place?
Unfortunately, we do not know that yet. The expected date is the end of 2019, because apparently shooting will last until the end of May.
