Season 2 of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ is already behind us. Was it as good as te season 1? Numerous Emmy nominations this year suggest that it’s true, but was it really so good?

Season one was based on Margaret Atwood’s book, while the season two was a brutal vision of the show creators. Although the acting was at a high level, and the beginning of the season was powerful (we got to know the stories of Moira and Serena), and then we got some really good scenes, the season closed extremely ... Predictable.

Once again June does not run away. This time it seemed that her escape might be succesful, but our heroine puts on a hood and turns around to leave with "Burning Down The House" song in the background, leaving her second child with Emily. Will June see any consequences of her actions in the next season? Does she even have any chances to help her first daughter?

Commander Lawrence, the new Commander of Emily (in this role we can see talented Alexis Bledel), is also a great example of the fact that the creators tried to surprise us, but something went wrong. It's so exaggerated that you feel something is not right from his first scene. Very quickly, you can guess that although he probably took part in the introduction of the new system and then, after some time, he began to regret it somehow. When Emily kills Aunt Lydia (a great scene, by the way, probably the most unexpected of the whole season!), it's hard to believe thats he will be punished for this act.

To sum up: we got outstanding acting, we got great soundtrack, we got very good shots and scenography that kept the dark mood of the presented world.

The Handmaid’s Tale season 3

What can we expect in the season 3? According to the creators of the series, we will see the further story of Emily and Nichole. We will also get to see more scenes with Commander Lawrence. Rita's story is also to be presented, for which we are waiting with curiosity and we hope that the actress will present the full artistry of her talent. The plot will also turn to the colonies. What we can expect is the the further exploration of the threads that was already discussed. The season three will probably focus on the present the degradation of dystopian Gilead society, which is something that can be found in many of these types of creations.
